Who are we?
Dunia ya Watoto is an organization in Mwanza, Tanzania, founded by Obadia Mwaipaja and Jasmin Vind Hofmeister. We met in Tanzania in 2022. In November 2023, we started developing the idea of starting this project together.

Since then, we have had many more people join the team, as we founded an association in Denmark and an registered an organization in Tanzania. We are incredibly grateful for all the support we have received.

Jasmin Vind Hofmeister

My name is Jasmin and I am 21 years old. I first traveled to Tanzania after high school in 2021 to volunteer at a school in northern Tanzania. After that I traveled on and became part of the band Rise'n'Shine, where I met Obadiah. After 10 months in Tanzania, I have developed a very close relationship with the country, the culture and the people, and I have been listening to Afrobeats ever since.

I have long wanted to give something back and make a difference for some children in Tanzania.
​
In the fall of 2023, I was a volunteer in the organization Tilila, which does activities for children in a small village in Morocco. This amazing project gave me the inspiration and courage to start the process and take the first steps for Dunia ya Watoto.
